Service Intervals for racing suspension
Sprint and Endurance Road-Race.
From LMP3 Car to Track-day Car, dampers used in these environments should have a limit of no more than 30-hours between servicing. This should be lowered to 15-hours if the operating temperatures exceed 100ºC for extended periods of time. We recommend an inspection at least every race season, regardless of mileage or use.
Rally
Rally Cars can see temperatures over 100ºC during an average 50KM stage, due to the extreme environments it is recommended that the dampers are inspected after 1-2 rally events.
Road and Track
Road driven with occasional track usage, most Öhlins ‘Road & Track’, or ‘Advanced Trackday’ dampers SHOULD withstand up to 3 years or 30,000km, but for Peak performance and reliability, we recommend a service every 10,000-15,000 Kilometers, just like the oil in your engine. For such applications, we also recommend regular external cleaning of your dampers. Simply spraying them down with soap and water, and removing any debris is recommended on a weekly basis.
